That looks like a nice part. One question though, if I wanted to use the commercial diameter tube that fits this part where would I have to source that part?

I just want to make sure that I can get the parts that I need.

Tube would be provided.  The only add'l part is whatever stock you'd want to run.  With the AR15 stocks there is "commercial" and then "Milspec" diameter buffer tubes and that's what that is referencing.

Oh that is great. Sounds like I am going to have to order a stock from you whenever a group buy gets to the numbers that you need.

I had one last question about the buffer tube and joint. When they are mounted are they parallel to the bore?

Yes, they're straight or nearly so and sit slightly lower than the barrel but close to if not exactly parallel.

Hello all,

Just put the vz58rifle folding module stock on my gun




Its nice BUT, the fit isn't perfect, theres a slight wobble. Its down to the way it attachs to the gun. It has a double threaded bolt, one end screws into the stock and the other goes into the back of the recevier (its the same diameter as the original). I tightened it all the way into the stock then screwed the stock onto the gun. When screwed all the way in the last turn to get the stock the right way up is VERY tight, getting a small tab over the edge of the back of the receiver, which indexes into the rectangular hole on the back of the gun, but once seated it allows for a bit of play.

There is a hex/allen key hole on the bolt which is visible on the inside of the back of the receiver, but due to the design of my gun (i have a strange UK legal one), i can't get a hex key in there to give it a turn to see if it can be tightened. However i doubt it will help as any turn on the bolt will correspond to an unscrewing of the bolt into the stock!? I'll see if i can post some pics to explain what i mean.

I'd love to hear from anyone else who has one that has managed to get theirs fitted perfectly

Heres a video showing the wobble where the tab on the stock allows a small amount of play with the notch in the back of the recevier;

Can you post just the link to that video?  The embed doesn't seem to be working for me...  It's just a 1"x2" box web frame box...

Looking at that screw -- it looks like you tighten the exterior portion down all or most of the way first (sounds like that's where you have the wobble).  And then tighten down the exterior adapter to receiver screw.  Tightening down that receiver screw last should pull that exterior portion tightly against the stock.  Be sure to put locktite on both once you get them right -- you may need to adjust the outside portion by a little as I'm sure it's threads are less strong than the receiver portion (don't want to torque them too much, just enough for snug -- looks like it might be opposite directions as well so again a reason for locktite to avoid that unscrewing when your tightening down the receiver portion...).

Question; does your VZ58 have that plate shown in my 2nd & 4th photo over the trigger mech/pistol grip? If so do you know how to remove it as i need it out of the way to get access to the hex hole on the bolt.

That said, it's pretty hard in my book to not run a Stormwerkz/Ace folder combo at those prices, but if there's an interest I'm happy to look into.

No, haven't seen a plate like that before...

I think you still need to tighten that stock nut further. 

Is that plate welded in there?  It looks to be installed to prevent it from being easily converted to full auto. 

If the plate isn't welded then most likely something is holding it in. 

First guess would be the safety (it'd be relatively easy to reinstall if it isn't the part holding).  More likely would be the sear, but it'd be harder to reinstall... 

Personally, I'd lean towards removing that screw.  Getting a dremel/rotary tool and grinding or cutting out some of the rear of that shelf...

In order for the UK version to be legal (we can't have full-bore semi-autos here  ) it has to have an interupted cycle, so with this gun you pull the trigger, the gun fires, bolt opens, ejects the case and then locks open. To close the bolt and load the next round you have to pull the trigger again.

Presumably the plate covers the trigger mech to stop you messing around with it. I'm going to go back to the manufacturer and if i get no joy there i think i'm going to first try to cut an allen/hex key so that it could fit, and if that doesn't work, i'll be getting the Dremel out!
