Tisas Zigana M 16 9mm Pistol
« on: September 30, 2014, 12:25:26 PM »
Anyone have one?  How has it held up?  I am looking at a two tone on Buds, but there is one thing holding me back.  I asked Buds if I wanted to upgrade the grips or anything else, were there places out there to do so.  They said there were not as far as they knew.  I asked if I could order factory parts from them.  They said even if all I wanted was a grip screw, or new recoil spring, I would have to send the pistol in for their gunsmith to do it.  That's a little ridiculous, no offense, because unless it's warranty work, I will have to pay the shipping, which I am sure will be much more than the parts I want to get.  Why sell guns as the main distributor that you can't get parts for to sell? The only thing they do sell for the pistol is mags, which does help as they are only about 20 bucks. No wonder they sell the guns so cheap.  Another thing, if I buy one and really didn't like it, I probably couldn't give it away.

For those of us who had no idea what you were talking about:  http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/cPath/21_1225/products_id/411553426/TISAS+ZIGANA+M16+9MM+5%22+15%2B1+Two+Tone

I don't know about that. Seems like a very nice handgun for the money. Just not well known and hence limited appeal for resale.

Not after I tell them there are no parts available for them.  I wouldn't just dump them off on someone without revealing that.  But Buds was prepared to do that to me if I had not asked.  The Tisas 1911 is a different story.  It's more than worth what it costs and parts are everywhere for it.

Sounds like you should search out a different brand of pistol.

Kadet
CZ 83
vz2008
SAR K2 45 X2
and some other "stuff"

I already came to the conclusion that I might need to find a different model, but I like the Tisas brand in 1911 as I said. Before I gave up I wanted so see if I could find anyone that owns one, and whether it has held up.  The low price of what you get still makes the gun appealing if it is one that has a track record of reliability.

One other thing:  this thread may not leave a good taste in some people's mouth, but it's exactly the kind of things I look for when researching a new pistol.  Are parts available, etc.  Maybe it will help someone down the road. I have nothing against Buds, I have bought several pistols from them and am paying on a layaway now. They are a very good company that stands behind what they sell.  It's just that info is sometimes hard to find on some of the models they really push. I didn't just find the Zigana by accident.  An email was sent to me touting it and other Tisas pistols. Nothing wrong with asking others for their experiences.  If I could get the pistol for a little over $300, it might be worth it, even if I have problems.  But they are not biting on my offers, so I guess I'll wait and see if any more info surfaces.  It's not like I have to buy any pistol, or buy it today.

I don't have any personally have experience with the Tisas pistols ,  but thought ypu might be interested in some info.
I was interested in some of the Tisas pistols when they were just introduced in the  USA at the Shot Show some years back.  A company rep. posted pictures and cool videos of the then available pistols AND the actual manufacturing plant and process.  Armordman was looking at these too.
Watch any videos that still work and hopefully some of the pics will still come up--the full auto pistols are interesting too. :)
