CZ SP01 vs EAA Witness Stock II (9mm) who prefers what?
« on: October 07, 2014, 08:31:01 PM »
I will be purchasing one more firearm before the year is over, and it will be the last pistol for me for some time.

I was curious if anyone who had experiences with these fine tools could put their input in below.

Please note that the pistol is being setup for USPSA Production.

Please factor in any pros or any cons you see fit below.

Size of grips, trigger, parts availability, cost of magazines, etc!

Thank you for your time.

(I apologize if this has already been done, I tried the search a few times and didn't find what I was looking for)

Where are you able to find a Stock II in 9mm?

I saw a few at this year's Nats, including the one in the holster of the Prod Nat Champ.  Though I'd probably hazard a guess that about half of the Stock II's I saw were chambered in .40SW.  OTOH, there was this beautiful double rainbow around mid-day Saturday after it finished raining, so I think that was an indication there might have been at least two Stock II 9mm's at the match...

The CZ SP 01.  I would tune the gun with a new trigger, springs, ect..  OR Buy the shadow or custom shadow.
I love my SP 01. I have had people tell me I would not like the double action first shot.
My double action is 5.5lbs , my single action is 3.25lbs.  I never know the difference in the two when the buzzer goes off.

Get the CZ SP 01, Shadow, or Custom Shadow.    For sure in USPSA.

The -01 will always have cheaper (Mec-Gar), more easily available mags (unless CZ75 mags fit in the Stock II), and much easier parts availability.

The Tanfo has the cool kid factor.  It IS a very nice pistol, but I would just get a Shadow (or even a plain SP-01) and customize it exactly like I would want it.
