Longest Kill Shot -1.5 miles
« on: October 13, 2014, 07:08:36 PM »
This may be old news but it is so fascinating that I thought it was worth a post for those who have never seen it.  This short video is done by the History Channel so likely to be truthful.

Yes, you're correct but the dude above held that record before Harrison did.  So dude deserves his 5 min's of sniper fame too imho.

My I was gonna be a Marine Corp Sniper fiasco !

Ironically when i joined the Marines as a Baker i was actually secretly planning on being a sniper.  All was going well on qualification day.  Beautiful weather, a nice tune in my mind to keep me calm and nothing but bulls eye's for the 1st. two stages/distances.  I just finished @ 300 yards rapid fire all perfect shots. Got to the 500 yard distance and it was smooth sailing and bullseye's as usual until my target was flagged.

I asked for a target check the way they taught us to do. I was ignored initially, then since it was obvious that's what was happening I got louder and asked more insistently.  They responded with no, i was going to get a target check. At that time the fix was in, but I didn't know it at the time.

Later i was told what happened and why.  I was victimized by the drill sergeants who were protecting our platoon leader.
Had he received the complete miss that they gave to me he would have been set/sent back and not been able to graduate with us.  It also meant they would have to choose another platoon leader,  obviously this also played a roll in victimizing me.

until just now i never thought that he also must have needed a bullseye or they would have chosen another marine close by to screw over.  seeing how i wasn't a trouble maker and was virtually anonymous to them i got the jar head bend over treatment.

Frankly I wouldn't want a Platoon leader who couldn't shoot,  but they had plans for this bozo.  His name was Battle of all the names he could have had lol, but he couldn't shoot.  He was also from my home town to add insult to injury/theft!

so you can see this dude in this youtube clip. Guess what he is or was?
cue the video to 4:55 he appears at 4:57-5:01. ironically he's  talking about a recruits rifle being rusty. even more Irony

The last half of that video brought back some memories.
Greed and the struggle for power will rule the day until we the people decide we have had enough.

cheytac m200 intervention sniper rifle

This is just not fair lol.  if we spend more time treating each other better instead of better ways to kill each other
our world would be so much better off and war would become a distant memory  as it should be already. imho
