Must vary by area because a satin nickel with 2 mags in excellent condition has been for sale the last 2 weeks on Backpage. He started at $380 and is down to $340. I made a trade offer but he is looking for cash. Unfortunately I'm remodeling a house for my mom and paying for a dentist's summer vacation next month so no spare cash for a toy.

Had to check, yep still posted. I need to check my lotto numbers maybe.....
He's simply advertising the wrong place.  It's best to advertise to a national audience like on GunBroker.

I see lots of stuff on gunbroker listed and re-listed because they don't sell. Some times you just need to sell.

Had another one posted today at a dealer:

*CASH PRICED* and we pay the sales tax.
BUY from an FFL and buy with confidence

Generally I see 9x18Mak pistols selling for more than 380ACP pistols.

I think it's just supply and demand. Manufactures and importers have turned up production to meet USA demand and in the last year the glut of entry level firearms has led to competive price drops. Across the board, from 1911 to polymer, quality handguns can be purchased in the $300 to $400 range. This drives prices down for any gun in the range unless they are a real collectible piece or a niche product line. The 83 is a niche item: old school design, larger & heavy for its class, and considered under powered by today's standard. So your market is a small group of buyers and you are correct Gunbroker is the way to find them, but how many of them don't already have one or are just looking for a deal? I just passed on a 82 for $250. I think in a year they will be back to thier import price of around $200. I bought a like new in the box Canik S-120 w/ 3 mags & holster that someone needed to sell for $250.

I hope I don't come off as cheap, I just remember the good old days when a 75B was $300, 82 imports were $150 and:

Im thinking 450.00 would be a fair price price for one NIB . But again could be a supply demand thing.. might not be much of a demand.. I know the blue one I have does shoot really well..
