Sigh, if I could just have a P-01 converted to DAO with David's trigger magic, and with Meprolights up top.....

Hey, I can dream!

Cyanide, wait till your DOA Cougar with the rotating barrel comes in. I had the 9mm DA/SA which was fun to shot and the rotating barrel has a lot to do with the non existant recoil.
The only reason I sold mine was to continue my love affair with CZ. I have never looked back, just looked forward and purchased more CZs.

Don't forget, I had a regular DA/SA Cougar many, many moons ago and loved it (just like the rotating barrel Grand Power P1 Mk7). Hey, I finally did that write-up you'd been waiting on! Lol

I went with a PCR built for me by CGW.  The gun is CGW's current cover photo on their Facebook page.  David supplied the base gun and I had him put the "Pro" package in the gun, sent him a 10-8 rear sight that he milled into the slide and requested that he send the frame to my local smith, Bunker Arms, to Cerakote the frame in "Brushed Aluminum."  I also had VZ Frag grips installed.  Pistol runs great and is very accurate.
All my other CZs have the dual Shadow safeties and I mainly shoot 1911s so like the "cocked and locked" feature of those guns.  However, it didn't take long to become accustomed to the decocker and taking the fist shot from DA mode where the trigger pull is only about 7.5# and the SA is about 3.5#.
This is my third CZ to be "Cajunized" and I like them all, but the PCR is one of my favorites.

That sounds like almost exactly what I'd like to do.  Something like that would be awesome.

I finally got a P01.  I got it fully Cajunized, as always.  I like it very much, nice smooth shooter.  Now my buddy wants it.  He is one of those who prefers a lighter carry.  He has a fully upgraded Compact he wants to trade me.  Since the P01 will never supplant my Compact for carry, and it has a decocker (yuk),  I suppose I will go ahead and trade him.  If I get his I will have three Compacts, all fully upgraded.  I suppose I can always get another P01 down the road if I really want one.

Wasz13.......pretty sure David would remember what he did on my PCR and, I think he has them in stock.  You would not be disappointed.

I don't get this angst about decocker vs safety.

If you carry your CZ with the hammer "down", it makes no difference how it got there when it comes time to shoot.

Decocking is an administrative action, completely apart from using the pistol in anger.

If you're using your SP-01 as a DA/SA pistol, then why would there be an issue with carrying a PCR then?

This is true.  Unless you like carrying cocked & locked.  But that is a small minority, I have found.  Most CZ owners seem to prefer a first shot DA.  So, having a gadget of any kind is irrelevant.
