Kadet advise please
« on: November 05, 2014, 06:26:02 PM »
I have decided to use my P-01 as a temp host frame. The 75BD is just to great of a 9mm shooter to share, as is my PCR.
I purchased the P01 on a whim and hardly shoot it, so why not use it for the Kadet?
The kit came with a slide stop. I have no idea what pistol it fits, but I know it doesn't fit the P-01.
I have read on this forum that I will have to call CZ and have them send one to me. Is this correct?
Also, does any one make sleeves for the mags to fill the gap between the frame and mag base?

The slide stop will work on a 75b, probably others.  You need a PCR slide stop for the Kadet to lock open on the P-01.
So what I did was called CZ-USA and talk to the warranty dept.  They will take the serial number of both the Kadet kit and your P-01, and then mail one out to you at no charge.  I did not have to return the original Kadet slide stop, which is good because I also use it on my 75b.

Not sure about the sleeves, but yes someone had posted about them before.

You van change the base plates to make the mags a flush fit.

That's what you need.

Have you done this yourself?
The reason I ask is they look pretty much the same in the picture.

Painter grabbed the wrong base. This is the one you need.

Has anyone tried the mag base?
I called CZ and they are sending out the PCR slide stop free of charge.

Recognized the error as I had done the same thing a few months ago. :-[

When I asked CZ if they would work, they stated no, there is nothing that can be done about a unflush mag.
Does anyone have any pictures with the Kadet on a P-01 with those bases?

Here is the Burning Question. The only difference in the two bases is the length so WHY is the shorter ones more expensive? I just cannot see $2 worth of difference when the one that uses the most material is the cheapest!!

In today's economy I think I have the answer.

I doubt CZ does their own injection molding. They're buying these from someone else.

CZ buys/sells many more fullsize mags as opposed to compacts. They buy cheaper and sell cheaper.

edit...

and I know of one member here that has used the base plates on the Kadet mags for his  P-01 and they work and look great.

I have a PO-1 with the Kadet and did exactly as M3Scott said.
It has been working flawlessly for a couple of years and hundreds of rounds.
Enjoy the Kadet on the PO-1, it has been a great combo.
