Not making any more PCRs?
« on: November 16, 2014, 09:51:31 PM »
Just an observation...

I'm in California looking for a PCR w/ 10 round mags. The PCR falls off the state's approved gun roster list Dec 31 (so the clock is ticking). I've inquired to at least 12 shops throughout the state and nobody has one in stock.  Curiosity had me looking at options across the country.  It appears there is only 1 PCR available on GunsAmerica (16 round mags); which leads me to believe CZ has stopped making the pistol for awhile.

Plenty of P-01's available but no PCRs.

They are still making them CZ USA just hasn't imported any of them if there are none in the US.  They seem to be happy to sell PO-1s.

Contact Stuart and see if he has anything in stock.

GunBroker has three list, but all 14 rounders.  Maybe one of them would sell you one for less price, minus mags.  Then pick up some 10 rounders.

I found another at Tooele Shooting Supply for ya.

Keep in mind that if you can only find a PCR with standard capacity magazines you can have the pistol shipped to an FFL with a High Capacity Magazine Permit and have them blocked by the FFL to 10 rounds. You also may be able to have the seller swap the mags to 10's for you.

From what i have gathered CZ tends to import to the U.S. sporadically. So there tends to be a bunch of a given model, then they dry up for a while.  I have heard they only manufacture a few models at one time, this may also contribute to the inconsistencies in supply.

I am also under the impression that most of the CZ pistols on the CA roster will be renewed. I cannot promise that this is the case, but based off of renewals in the past and other information i have come by it seams likely.
Will work for CZ pics! (including but not limited to all CZ clones)

Or buy and ship to Stuart, let him swap mags, then send it on to you.   That would incur an extra shipping charge, but at least there wouldn't be a void in your safe. ;)

Damascus Gun Shop also shows the 14rnd PCR in stock. http://www.damascusgunshop.com/shop/pistols/cz-75-compact-models/cz-75-d-pcr-compact.html I've heard others on this site say they will sometimes switch mags. - Bodene

Forgive me for my ignorance but who is Stuart (and do you have any contact information for him)?   Thanks.

Thanks.  I spoke to Stuart (very gracious with his time) and he doesn't have any PCRs.   I may have to mix-n-match PCR w/ 10 round mags.

Thanks Bodene.  I spoke w/ Aaron and purchased a CZ 75 PCR from his website (with two 10 round mags at no additional charge).

For what its worth to those outside California, while not in stock the price for the same pistol starts at $580 and up (and I do mean UP!).  A P-01 starts at a few dollars more.

Good for you.  Now we need pics and review when it comes in.

I guess most of us take it for granted about the ease of getting what you want when you want it. If y'all get those bums out of Ca. government y'all could come back to the real world. Glad you got a CZ you wanted. And as others said, post pictures......

I bought my first CZ, a 75B .40S&W BiTone, from Damascus Gun Shop just before those really were taken out of production in 2012.  Really nice people to deal with and a very smooth purchase transaction.

The PCR is the best compact I own. Glad you found one. Man, living in California must be challenging.
