Frontier & Blue Bullets with 7625 & AA#2
« on: December 05, 2014, 10:14:16 PM »
Worked up AA#2 and 7625 in .45acp with he following bullets for my 97BD:
- Frontier 200gr CN FMJ OAL 1.240
- Frontier 230gr RN FMJ OAL 1.250
- Blue Bullets 200gr SWC
- Blue Bullets 230gr RN OAL 1.250
- Berry's 250gr FP OAL 1.200

8 Rounds total per target at 15 Yards from rest

Below are Accuracy tests that are the best results.
In Short, the 3 best are below.

- The softest by far was the Frontier 200gr with 6.2 gr of 7625 - compares closely to N310 with Berry's 230RN
- Most Accurate Berry's 250 with 4.3 of AA#2
- Close Second Accuracy 230rn Blue Bullets with 5.8 of 7625

Wish I could use the chrono but I am back inside for tests. I will definitely be picking up more 200rg Frontier and consider using as Limited 10 next year.

Since I have a lot of 7625 I will give it a try for 45acp using 230 and 200 gr bullets. Thanks for the inspiration rip
I have tried wst, bullseye, and e3 liking wst the best for my single stack competition.
I am lucky since I can chrono indoors :)

I loaded 24 each of the SWC with 7625 & AA#2. Out of the 48, I had 1 feeding issue and it was the last one in the mag.
I not impressed with the AA#2 except for the Berry's 250gr. With the lower grain bullets the AA#2 was very snappy!

FWIW With my limited experience with reloading I find that 7625 under 200gr. & 230gr. Blue Bullets to be quite accurate. I'm just afraid to use the 7625 because when it's gone there is no more.

;D
Catch22.
If you don't load it,  it's gone NOW.  If you load it all up,  it's gone tomorrow. O0

P.S.  I'm in the same boat,  and mine is sinking steadily.

Nicky, which 200gr were you using in Blue Bullets?

I had 3lbs of 7625 in the cabinet. Figured it would be better off in cases instead of container.
I am still kicking myself for not buying the 8 pounder at the lgs in August!  :(

     They are the RNFP.
You are right. They are better off in the cases instead of the container but it hurts seeing my supply dwindle down.

I think it's better if it's gone tomorrow. It's my first powder & my favorite so far.
Now if I could only find some N320 or N340 or some True Blue or some............

I have the 200 SWC from Blue and they don't sound as accurate as you RNFP
