For giving up on the SP-01 Tactical (for some specific reasons), I went with the standard SP-01.

I ended up doing a trade with Omega (the master grip maker), and just picked it up today. I did not shoot it yet, but am very impressed with the gun.

The workers at the gun shop (one of whom is a huge Glock nut) were very impressed by it, too.

As part of the trade, Omega did a complete action job. The one guy at the gun shop is a former police instructor, and as soon as I said it had a trigger job, he asked if he could try it (with snap caps). He almost seemed shocked at how good the trigger was, and said the single action was "incredible", while the double action was "as smooth as glass." He then said "a trigger like that is unheard of with CZs."

There is no way around it, in regular or tactical form the CZ SP-01 is a fine gun. A few enhancements make it truly amazing!

Glad to hear it -- I just ordered my new SP-01 Tactical today from Matt Mink. I'm going to have him work some of his "magic" on it, so I won't see it for a little while. As much as I enjoy shooting my CZ 75BD now, I can't wait to get my hands on one that has been tuned up a little bit!

You guys are all a bad influence!!

Don't worry Stuart -- I hold you completely responsible! If you hadn't posted pics of your guns, I probably could have contained myself!

I have a month or two to warm my wife up to the idea of another new CZ....that's a lot of honey do's -- but I know it will be worth it!
