Yep, I agree.  I would even like the grip tape on one after I got the shape right for me.  I may add some to my current bullseye gun, on the front and rear of the P-09.  But I wouldn't want to mess up the gorgeous glob of JB-Weld on the side panels!

Purchased a set of lava grips from copper gun grips and they arrived today. Put them on my gun and they feel great. They are very grippy and allow my support hand to get better traction than the thin al grips. Will test them out at the range tomorrow. My initial impression is very favorable.

How does the thickness compare to stock grips and thin alum grips?

They are still thin but are more rounded so they fit the natural curve of my hands much better than the thin al grips. I can't comment on the stock grips bc my shadow came with the thin al czc grips. I've shot with them twice now & I'm really liking them..much better grip with my support hand than the al.
