How long can a trigger spring last

My sp-01 failed to reset yesterday. After some googling, it seemed that the trigger spring was broken. I was quickly convinced because a piece of trigger spring leg fell out of the gun.
My sp-01 is fairly new. It has only 1000 round through it. But I might have done more than 2000 dry fire. Is this the typical life of a trigger spring?

Mine hasn't failed in over 6000 rounds and probably the same in dry firing. It really depends though

A CGW trigger spring will last over 20k rounds in a 75B, based on my sample of one gun.  I put the CGW springs in all three of my CZ's and don't feel there is a need to carry a spare. 

Factory springs are reportedly hit or miss.  Some last 1k rounds, others 10k.

Joe, the only thing I can find on CGW website is "Reduced power trigger return spring". Is this what you have? Thanks.

When I was working, I was a certified S&W armorer and we preached that all springs should be changed every 5 years/5,000 rounds in duty weapons.  In non-duty weapons, I would suggest 5 years/10,000 rounds.

400 plus a few thousand dry fires.  I think it was the rapid dry fires that did it.  Went with the CGW reduced power as a replacement.  Different feel with the reduced power spring and some here don't care for it.  I'm ok with it, now.

Yes, and the same spring works in the P-09 also.  It will reduce the trigger pull in single action about 5-6 oz over the factory spring but they don't fail, in my experience.

I did that when my spring sprung.  Worked fine.  Just had to push the trigger forward between shots.  Really wasn't bad at all.  Just a bit slow.  A bit of practice might speed things up.

On my 75B,  the old style stock TRS broke at somewhere around 20K rds. +/-.  I put in the new style spring and have over 40K rds (+ ?? dry fire) on it, and it's still good.  Once you buy a spare, they never break. 

P.S.  The old style TRS was a simple wire wound spring with straight tangs.  The newer spring tangs are actually shaped/bent to fit the slots they ride in.

I have no idea. It was in the gun when I bought it used in 2004.
