Removing Trigger bar disconnector
« on: December 22, 2014, 11:46:45 PM »
I am trying to remove the trigger bar disconnector in order to detail strip my CZ82 for refinishing.  What is the best way to remove the trigger disconnector bar rivet without destructicating it?  How do I put it back on?  While we're at it, same question goes for the steel ball.

Thanks in advance.

We recently tore down a couple for refinishing and we left those parts on as suggested by "Sailor Curt".  Didn't see any reason to go against his advice on that issue.

I did see his blog, but figured he stopped at that point because he was going to do a trigger job.  Didn't think that it was also for refinishing it.  Does that only apply to re-bluing?  I'm planning to have mine refinished with Armoloy (chromium plating).  Thanks.

I don't know. We just used KG Gun Kote and haven't had any issues with not stripping the final couple of pieces.

I sent an email to Armoloy's Ft. Worth branch, but didn't receive a response.  I went in today and they said that removing the rivet is not necessary.  Thank you for the help.

Found a video of this app in action.  I had never heard of it, but it looks interesting.

The trigger bar disconnector can be removed by drilling the rivet (I had to do it because it was worn). The rivet is destroyed in the process; replacements are available from CZ.

I had a hunch that it would be a one-way operation.  Thanks for confirming it.
