2014 CZC SP-01 Shadow Custom Two-tone

Results:
Original DA/SA:  7lbs 13oz, 3lbs 5oz
New DA/SA: 6lbs 8oz, 2lbs 6oz.

This was measured with a Lyman digital trigger gauge, and averaged. It has a 13# main, and 11# recoil spring. This is a pretty remarkable difference with just a little polishing, lube, and a new TRS. I ran the gauge maybe 20 times because I didn't quite believe it. The feel of the DA pull is super slick now, I am very happy.

I've wondered if "catalog" custom pistols truly received the full custom build treatment...
Burlycz, thank you for your detailed post. I can't get enough data when I read about the work being done. I was somewhat surprised to see the significant 1# drop in SA and further 1/2# in DA you obtained through additional polishing, polishing on the sear and TRS.  You also pointed out that CZC left some felt unevenness and friction in the trigger pull. Would you say that the CZ Custom job was not to the level you would expect if further work was needed to remove the feel issues?

I am happy with the work that CZC did, and they certainly did everything that was listed on the listed item. However, I think there is always fine tuning that can be done - to expect them to do absolutely everything may be a bit unreasonable, as they would probably hit diminishing returns on what they are charging vs. time spent. I used Schmeky's and other posts on tuning/polishing and didn't think everything needed to be done except for what I commented on. All in all, I only spent an additional hour or so to get that improvement (if you don't count that godforsaken trigger pin removal) and I probably would have gotten the same improvement with just the trigger spring and lots of dry-firing. I was just a little impatient and I like to take things apart to better understand their function.

Went to the range yesterday with my son. Pistol functioned perfectly, 200+ rounds and not a single issue. It was quite cold, and quite windy (40F, 10-15mph) but my better groups were 2-3" at 10yds. Son also shot well (6" groups), although he is a bit behind me in practice.

After field stripping, cleaning and relubing, I swapped in the 11.5# CGW hammer/main spring. Dropped my DA pull another lb. SA was unaffected. SO it is sitting at about 5.5lbs (5lbs. 9oz) DA, 2.5lbs (2lbs. 6oz) SA. I don't think I want any lighter, so I am done tweaking and extremely happy with the modifications and results.

What a great platform the CZs are (especially after the CZC treatment)...Now I just need to decide on what CZ is next.
