I have a 452 Trainer too. I've gone the entire circle of experimenting with various sights and came back to the simple tangent sights. I guess I should've kept it simple to begin with.
I first bought BRNO sights and liked them but not enough to keep them. (I KNOW I'm in the minority there!) I sold them and then bought a Clearidge 3-9 Ultra and mounted it with Burris Signature mediums. This really worked well and cleared the bolt fine. But in the end, I longed for simplicity. The rear tangent sight is so easy to flip from 50 to 100 yards it spoiled me!
I'm thinking of selling off my scope and rings and simply sticking with the basics. I love how the rifle's stock is perfect for the iron sights!
I am far sighted and I can still see 20/20 at distance (past my arms length). Anything closer everything is blurred but it still allows me to use the rear sight although just a LITTLE blurred but front sight ok.
But out of the two alternatives to the tangent sights, I preferred the scope.
