Not surprising that .380 is #2.  CZ makes beautifully shooting .380's.  It's also popular on the Walther site. I'm a PPS .40

I'm somewhat surprised that the .380 didn't score even higher, given the press it has been getting and the number of new guns being made for it. I think if wives had been included in the poll it would have (IMHO) scored even better, as would the .38 Special given the number of snubbies being purchased for wives these days. Very interesting poll.

I also like Walthers and did a poll there the same day we started this one.  The results are similar, but .40S&W barely is beating .380 for now.  This really surprised me with the PPK being such an important model for Walther.  Lots of folks do like them in .32 though.

Good poll. On this forum, the majority of 9mm does not surprise. While I shoot .45 and love it, I carry and compete with 9mm. For me, there's no question.

No option to select multiple calibers?  I carry a few different pistols depending on mood as well as what I am wearing.

.45acp in a 4" 1911, 9mm in a BHP, waiting on an IWB holster for my CZ-75 Shadow, or .380 in a Colt Mustang.

Over the years I've carried all of the calibers in the poll except for the 10mm

Ok so really, if the 380 is such a commonly carried rnd, when will the prices come down?

Thinking as I'm typing here,,..all of those 380 newpocket pistols ( I have a older LCP ) are probably owned and carried way more than they are shot at the range.

I've had my Ruger LCP for three years and I'm guessing I've ran less than 300 ends throught it.

So I therefore conclude while there are a ton of 380 pistols out there, the demand on the cartridge may be low since they may be shot much less than a 45 acp. I guess they makers of it as a result which causes their cost to make it higher.

And I'll bet that if you've fired 300 rounds through a small .380, you've fired at least five times as much ammo through it as the average .380 carry person has. Same with a .38 Special snubby.

I loved shooting my 642 (when I had it). I actually don't mind the LCP but I do have a Hogue grip and stronger Wolf recoil spring on it and that helps a lot!

I noticed that although there is an "other" category, no body used it yet.  No 44's? The 44 special is a great caliber.  Similar to 45. acp.

I think the biggest reason for that is that large frame revolvers are much harder to conceal than a large auto, even if it has been cut down, and a bit heavier too. The only exception is something like a Charger Arms .44 snubby, but the recoil and blast on a rig like that would be grimmer than grim. Just IMHO.

Do you mean Charter Arms?  I have had a couple Charter Arms Bulldogs in .44 Special and they are more pleasant to shoot than a comparable sized .357.  Sure, they fling a big bullet,,,,, but it is only going slightly faster than a brisk walking pace.

Yes, I meant Charter Arms. Glad to hear you like shooting them so much. With my arthritic hands the thought of firing off a snubby with a big bullet makes me hurt just thinking about it.
