Shadow - factory loads

The SP-01 Shadow is one gorgeous gun.  Wish I could get my hands on one around these parts!  Well, I'd like to be able to handle any SP-01 for that matter!  Nobody has them.  I noticed that this gun is sprung lightly to accept light competition handloads.  Does this mean that one would not be able to use factory loads?  Would using factory ammo damage this gun?

Depends what factory ammo you are going to use...WWB ammo chronographs about 1140fps out of my SP01..so a 12# spring works fine..if you are planning on shooting other ammo ( +p or +p+ ) you may need to respring the gun to match...

easy enough to do..

eerw,

I'd be using standard factory loads (at least until I start reloading for less recoil).  I see no need to use +p loads for anything but self defense.

Thanks for your input!

I would not use the hot stuff or factory ammo with the Shadow as sprung.

However, both Atlanta Arms black box as well as Corbon Natch line of ammo come in 147 grain Match loads that should be OK to use in the Shadow.

I know that Angus recommends a 124 load.  If you plan to shoot 124 grn ammo, just follow the book & use the starting load for N-320 & a JHP.

If you absolutely refuse to reload, then try to find some Commercial Reloads like Atlanta Arms blue box - it is loaded lower down close to the power factor.
