I received my 03FFL about two and a half years ago and the very first C&R eligible firearm that captured my imagination was the CZ82. After buying the first one for $236 delivered to my front door, I was hooked. I spent a year checking GunBroker and places like Classic, AIM, SOG, and Widener's several times every week, looking for 'good deals'. Prices began to inch upward, but I worked hard to stay within my new C&R budget.
I began to bid on every decent looking CZ82 on GunBroker that I could buy for $225 or less delivered. Most of the time I was not successful, but now and then I picked up what I considered a bargain. My collection grew and finally got to the point where I could no longer rationally justify buying any more, especially since I could no longer find any within my $225 ceiling. Over the past year or so I have seen prices for nice surplus CZ82 pistols, depending on condition, accessories, and number of magazines, routinely climb to the $275-$325 range, if you could find them.
Fast forward to today and my bi-monthly CZ82 search on GunBroker. With six hours remaining in the auction as I write this, a CZ82 in excellent condition with two magazines, cleaning rod, and a pristine holster has 17 bids and is at $555 dollars plus shipping!
