In CZ land, this is as good as it gets. That hammer looks great as does the hole build. Thanks again for all of the detailed coverage. I will be back to ogle the XCR often.
Will work for CZ pics! (including but not limited to all CZ clones)

Thanks for all the kind words guys.

I'd like to get some of your guys input, now that this project is getting close to the end is there anything else you would have done to it? I'm pretty tapped out on idea's and think it turned out great but I might build another one someday  8) you never know.

Things I might have changed or improved:

Drop the custom hammer tho it looks really nice it's a 90 dollar hammer before you send it off for work so it's really costly for what it is.

Dehorning the thing would be a nice touch but i'm not sure if it would be worth the work.

Lastly I was talking to someone over at the high road and it got me thinking about having the slide milled in the rear to match the front. The thinkness of the rami slide at the rear is 1.065 compared to .930 of a cz 75. Now the front of the rami is .865 and if someone were to mill the front depth all the way back and add new serrations it would like almost factory I think and cut the thickness weight. I'm not sure if I could overcome the weight loss with recoil springs or not but it would sure be fun to find out.

so if you got any idea's I'd like to hear them.

I'd certainly be interested though I might have to sell to buy. I'm sure it'd be a quick sell. Only thing I'd say if I have to come up with something... I have a rami and yes a dehorning would be nice for overall feel of the slide. I'm also not a fan of the rami recoil spring. Obviously limited in options I know. The recommended 500 rounds change out is not ideal to say the least. JMO. Lastly (and this is being picky) swap the SS screws out for black ones. Might make that beautiful trigger stand out more.  :o

I would absolutely mill the slide at the back and the rails that s ick out.  Then you have a small thin double stack that has a grip just big enough for the hand.  The perfect CC pistol.  I have a compact and a rami.  Both dehorned and I shaved a bit off the slide release and used a rami safety to get it thin.  I will probably almost never carry the rami as I don't like the thickness.  I really like your project and want to build one, but don't want to buy two guns to make one.

Ya its kind of a bummer you have to drop over 1k to get the frame/slide you need. If you know someone that wanted the other half it wouldn't be as bad.

I woulder how light a rami I could build. Most of the weight comes from the slide, milling the back would reduce a good chunk of weight but more could probably be removed from the inside under the firing pin area. Dehorning would also remove some weight tho I dont think a lot can be gained from the frame.

Would you leave the back end of the slide straight edges or beveled any? I suppose you'd stop the milling at where the last serration was. Is that enough material? Just curious. I'm no metal fab guy?  Would kind of make for some cool slide charging "tabs".

If I was gonna try it I would take the front of the slide (.865 wide) and have it milled all the way to the rear so the front and the rear match. I would leave the groove the blends the slide and the frame. The serrations would have to be cut even deep than the slide and the FPB might have to be removed and welded for it all to work.

Got the sight cut to the prefect length and the sear cage profiled to the slide.
