Like you guys, I was looking for a tactical weapon-mounted light that is very bright, very small, and inexpensive -- 3 characteristics that hardly coexist. I also wanted it to have a momentary-on feature and to also have a laser. Of course, having a laser meant that once it's calibrated for accuracy, it isn't recommended to be taken off and put back on without recalibrating again, so it needs to always stay on.
I ended up getting the Viridian C5L-R ("R" for red laser instead of the default green, which was a lot more money). It's only 100 lumens wide-angle for constant-on lighting, and 140 lumens for strobe mode. Anyway, that's the sacrifice in order to keep it very small. Good news is that it's bright enough to illuminate my house from one end to another. It doesn't do a great job ID'ing someone's face in the backyard though - just doesn't have the range - but it still provides enough light to see what's back there. It's pretty good for a relatively small combination accessory, and after 300+ rounds, some of them rapid firing, no issues seen -- everything works perfectly, nothing loosened up.
