Help identify this CZ82 part
« on: March 04, 2015, 01:03:46 AM »
I was cleaning my CZ82 when this small metal piece seemed to fall out of the field-stripped pistol.

Does anyone recognize this thing? Is it a part of the CZ82 that has come loose or broken off? I reassembled the pistol, and to my amateur eye nothing seems wrong with it. Still, I'm afraid to fire it again when something might be broken. I hope somebody here can tell me for sure whether or not this thing came from a CZ82. I suppose it's possible that I was mistaken and it's just some random piece of metal that got flung in while I was cleaning my guns.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It's the head from one of the two pins shown as number 23 in the exploded view in the manual. More recent ones use an ordinary round head, which is also what's shown in the diagram.

Looks like JoePfeiffer knows his parts.  The sear/disconnector pin - part #23 is available from CZ-USA http://shop.cz-usa.com/ProductDetail/0330158101_Seardisconnector-Pin-83.

Replacement pins are in stock at $2.00 each.  It looks like it may be time to get together a CZ82 small parts order and have them shipped together.

Not so much I know my parts as I had one of mine fall off, too, a while ago.

Thank you for your prompt and helpful replies.

Excellent idea il.bill, I'll put together an order of small parts to be shipped along with the sear/disconnector pin.

From your experience with the CZ82/83, which parts are prone to wear and liable to need replacing soonest?

This post http://www.czfirearms.us/index.php?topic=69557.msg484702#msg484702 is my best response.  Under Assorted Springs, Pins, and Screws I would definitely include a Sear Spring or two http://shop.cz-usa.com/ProductDetail/0330022001_Sear-Spring-Cz83 .

Good luck, and let us know how things go.
