HAJO Rear Sight Problem/Question
« on: April 09, 2015, 12:38:46 AM »
I have a 9mm 75 Shadow with the HAJO rear sight that has had some problems with the pivot pin breaking.  CZC has replaced the pins and the springs with great customer service.
It happened again a few days ago.  The pin broke but part of the pin stayed in place so nothing "flew apart".  It just lost the zero adjustment and was shooting way high.
I replaced the pin and took it back out to the range and found it no longer has the "click adjustments".  It adjust fine but changes/drifts up with every shot.  I haven't taken it back apart again,  but need to tomorrow.

What is the likely part/cause/fix to keep the sight from drifting off zero when shooting.  Match Saturday.  Is there a temp fix to lock it in place until I can get the part or whatever is missing replaced?  Sure do need this gun to run Saturday. :-\

Backup gun?

Sorry, not helpful.  Bu this is one of the reasons why I have 2 guns for each of all the divisions I shoot in.

Thanks, but Murphy butted in and I had a problem with BOTH the 75B and the shadow.
I also prefer the Shadow for this type of match. :  :-(
I'll take  harder look at the HAJO today.

If someone has a suggested fix,  that would make my day.

Stuart if you get bored,  sure could use your expertise with this sight.  :)

You're living proof that 3 is the new 2 in 2 is one / one is none.   Sucks...

But then that means 4 is 3  :-\

No offense to OP but this just made me glad I didnt get the Hajo. I originally wanted it, but went with the LPA target sights from the shadow target instead. Only reason was I wanted the left and right adjustment in the field. The HAJO looks nicer for sure.

OP, can you loctite it down with the weaker stuff just for the match? Not ideal obviously, but maybe you can get through the day...

burlycz,  I was considering that very thing and then the rains came.  Match is cancelled.    bummer.

I took the site apart and found that the part that provides the click and holds the adj. screw in position and  fits in a tiny hole (1/16" approx)  opposite the knurled sight adjust screw was missing.  another bummer.

My 75B has a broken leg on the trigger bar spring.  Should have had a spare---another bummer.

Re Comp. sights.  I have those on my 75B and reloading heavier/lighter bullets brings problems shooting steel/smaller targets.  The height needs to be elevation adjustable.  Never need a windage adjustment.  The HAJO fills the bill and is exactly like the Comp Rear,  but has been an occassional PITA due to the pin breakage causing other parts to go missing.
