Causes of DAO behaviour
« on: April 16, 2015, 08:45:15 PM »
I recently completely disassembled my CZ83 and did a little trigger work following the tutorial on the sailorcourt.com blog. I also installed a new style trigger guard and slide catch spring from CZ-USA. I lost the original spring and the new one looks like a small allen wrench. Without the hook the original had I've had problems with it staying in place. The trigger guard is also a slide stop. The trigger feels great now but about half the rounds have the hammer down after the slide cycles. Similar to a double action only gun.

There is a mark on the slide stop indicating that the slide is hitting it so I thought maybe the slide is stopping a little short to cock the hammer. After thinning this area down a little the behavior continued so I put the original trigger guard back on which didn't help. Is there a spring I may have installed wrong or something else that can cause this to happen?
