Israeli LE Surplus CZ83's
« on: April 17, 2015, 05:30:33 PM »
Just got an e-mail from AIM and they have some Israeli LE trade-in CZ83's, which look to be in very good shape.  Very good price too, from what I've been seeing.  Has me tempted to get an 83 to go with my 82.

They look to be in very good shape.

I saw the E-mail notice yesterday, dilly-dallied about a purchase last night, and thought I would sleep on it.  Just logged on the AIM site at 8:30 a.m. Central Time this morning to buy one (thinking maybe even two!) and they are SOLD OUT.

Not enough time to even consider. Sold out when I checked at 11:03 EST.

Oh well.
It all sounded a lot funnier in my head.

CDI Sales has a bunch on Gun Broker. They don't look as good as those but are cheaper.

I got one of the Coles Dist. CZ83 pistols for about $250 delivered to my 01FFL.  It runs great, but the finish / condition of the AIM Surplus ones sure looked nicer.

I managed to score a cosmetically challenged one from AIM early Monday morning. I just got shipping notice. I'll post a picture when it gets here. I like well worn police guns and am looking forward to trying a CZ 83.

I've bought two CZ83's and a Jericho 941 FS from Cole Dist. I pick through the photos and chose the best one and I have not been disappointed. Thing is I like the Jericho better than the CZ83 now. It shoots tighter groups, holds 17 rounds of 9MM vs 13 rounds of .380, and is effectively THE SAME SIZE.
Canik Shark FC 9mm

My FFL called and woke my up from a nap, being retired is hard work. The CZ 83 I ordered from AIM was listed as cosmetically challenged, but It looks better than I expected. Except for the miss matched rusted grip screws I can live with the wear. I'll clean it up tonight.

Do these used 83s from Israel seem to be well-maintained?

My main objective for now is buying a second P-83, but a second CZ (now an 82) in the future in .380 would be sort of an insurance policy.

Would rather not have most of my central/eastern Euro handguns in the exact same chambering,in case of more restrictions placed on imported guns or ammo. Irrational politicians' long-term goals will never change. The "Progressives'" (so to speak ;)) objectives on gradually banning guns (and permits) will last several decades if necessary.

Looks like you got a pretty nice 83 from Aim. You have to be fast when the have the deals posted. I always seem to miss the boat.

This moment, over 40 CZ-83s are listed on Gunbroker.

Why Not in .380 Auto vs. 9x18 Mak? Both rounds are very similar in terms of power.
