New Combat owner part suggestions?
« on: April 28, 2015, 09:57:18 PM »
I've purchased a Combat to replace or supplement a Glock 34 in SSP and Production shooting.  I'm a new hack but enjoy the matches.  I can't justify a big investment in the gun but enjoy tinkering with the non-carry guns and have got the tools on hand.  I see the trigger job and polishing threads and figure I'll tackle it soon.  My question is what should I replace.  On CGW site I don't see an SRS kit for the 85, is there a reason one is not available?

I figure I'll try to add the CZ comp hammer and long firing pin, with springs.  Spring weight suggestions appreciated too-shooting white box 115 gr and the like.  Any other suggestions on getting this gun in line?  Just looking to reduce SA and DA pull, and roughness at a reasonable price.  Thanks.

The SRS is for FP Block pistols. What you'll want to look at is an Ultra light kit for Shadow, 85 series, pre B 75. (Bottom of page) http://www.cajungunworks.com/ultra-lite.html

And a Type 1 disco. (Top of page)

The actual SRS includes a new FP Block lifter, which of course you won't need[emoji6]

Your welcome. Give The guys at CGW a call or email. They are great guys. Will listen to what you're lookin to do, and won't try to sell you something you don't need. Their customer service is by far, the best I have EVER seen.

If your going with a ext firing pin you should be fine to go with a 11.5lb hammer spring and a 11lb recoil spring. The kit comes with a 13 of your trigger is too light but both will fire the white box

Great information.  This raises a question though.  Why reduce firing pin tension?  It's not like striker fired gun where reducing striker tension will reduce trigger pull, right?

If by reducing firing pin tension you mean the lighter hammer spring, that is necessary for a light DA pull. It doesn't affect SA as much
I had the right to remain silent...

but not the ability.

Most of these guns are shooting minor power factor loads so the recoil spring is tuned to the load. A stronger spring than necessary hammers the slide on the slide stop.

You want the ejected case to land 6-8 feet from the gun.

Ok more gun function rather than trigger pull improvement.

Yes...the stock recoil spring is strong enough for NATO ammo. You won't be shooting that in gun games.
