So I have been carrying a P07 duty for about three years and that baby was perfect with its CGW internals and all of the "polishing" from many thousands of rounds. I had, however,an interest in the front cocking serrations on the 2014 model and the improvements in the frame materials. I picked one up cheap on Gunbroker last week.
The intent was to switch out all of the guts and recreate the exact same feel but that was not what happened. Everything installed just fine (with help from Joe L's videos of course). The problem was with the trigger pull. The hammer would fall with a mm or 2 left in the pull. If I finished the pull the trigger felt sticky and there was resistance. It would also retain itself in the rearmost position for a split second before releasing to the front. This is a problem.
I spoke with Joe and then David from CGW, both of whom suggested it may be the oversized roller. I replaced the roller with the factory roller and there was not improvement.
From the feel of the bad trigger pull, i had originally sispected it was the trigger rubbing on the trigger cut out on the frame. It just felt "platic-y" to me. I decided to replace the duty trigger, trigger srping, and trigger bar with the newer setup that I had previously removed. This solved the problem.
There must be some variations between the trigger and the frame measurements from Duty to 2014 which I was not aware of. I am glad that the problem was fixed, I had my trigger perfectly tuned and was bummed when I ruined it! Thank you David and Joe for the help!
