New CZ 97B - What upgrades to do

Just got home with next project, upgrade 97B? I have been wanting a 97B for sometime.  Picked one up this morning.  Now trying to decide what all the order. Will get the following:
Extended firing pin and spring
New firing pin block spring
85C trigger
Float trigger pin
Reduced trigger spring
13 lb hammer spring
Disconnector
Think about the Ring Hammer with adjustable sear.

A pair of DaveB's Micarta grips would be a swell addition!
I'm also looking to have mine upgraded as well.

85C Trigger with adjustable overtravel
Custom Hammer and action job
Short Reset
ACCU bushing
SP01 Slide Release
TS Safety

Fiber Optic Front and Target Rear

I've also toyed with setting it up as a single action.
Firing Pin block would be removed.

One of these days I pick a CZ to upgrade but, as it stands, all my pistols are stock.  The only weapons in my chest that I have any modifications are my M4 carbine and Tavor SAR and the modifications (upgrades) to those have been limited to a Strikefire optical sight (red dot/green dot) for the M4 and an EOTech XPS2.2 holographic sight and G33 magnifier for the Tavor. Everything else is stock.

If you wanted the Full Monty just send it to David at CGW. It will come back in amazing condition

I sent him mine last summer. Took 6 weeks but after I got it back I woukd have waited 10! Unbelievably accurate and smooth.

No Worries...
You can perform the upgrades/modifications/polishing without delay. All you need is some time , a little mechanical dexterity and about as much patience as you would need to babysit a toddler.  :o

Ordered the Short Reset Kit, Reduced Trigger Reach kit, floating trigger pin, Ring Hammer with sear plus a few other parts yesterday after talking with Dave.  Looking forward to getting the parts and doing the third update of one of my CZs.  Also, looking forward to seeing the update web site once it is completed.

Thank for the link to the post of your upgrade to your 97BD.  I enjoyed reviewing the pictures.  It brought back memories of working on my 75BD Police and RAMI BD.

I put the link in for the benefit of the conversation that was talking about the possible back-up in work at CGW. I figured that you were ordering parts because you knew how to install them.
Looking forward to seeing your results. Would be interested to know how much over travel you have in the SA trigger pull.
Mine breaks less than 1mm from the frame. No need for the over travel screw in the trigger.

B2D--You should be very, very happy with that group of parts!  I have only had a CGW 97B"E" for about 6 months but I've put a bunch of rounds through mine and it has become my favorite .45.  It just fits me very well, with DaveB's fat grips. 

But, this is what I expected after becoming addicted to the 75B wiht a Kadet conversion.

Parts arrived today, and by 6:30 pm upgrades installed.  Double action was a little high 9.7 lbs, but Single action measured out at 3.4 lbs.  During some dry fire later, I noticed the DA pull started feeling rough.  After taking the pistol apart, I noticed one of the trigger bar spring arms was not riding in the grove on the bar.  But between the bar and the frame.  After returning the spring arm back into the grove, DA pull improved.  The parts from CGW are a great improvement to a CZ.

Not to be contrarian, but mine is still completely stock after 10 years (including grips) and still shoots deadly accurate.  If you must do something, replace the ejector spring and recoil spring as I had to do that before 2000 rounds myself. Also buy yourself a couple of extra mags (witness works ok or go OEM). Then spend your money on ammo and then decide.

Are the bulk of the upgrade parts the same between the 75 models and the 97 models? Like the hammer being the same, and hammer strut being the same? I already have all the fun bits in an SP-01 and may just pull them out and stuff them in the 97 if they all fit.
