As there are no sights included with the Tactical, I borrowed the following sights to go to the range:

Nikon Buckmaster 4.5-14x40 scope.
Optisan 1-6x24 CX6 scope.
Aimpoint compM (an oldie from what I've heard).
Iron sights for an LMT AR-type rifle.
Shooting with the sights were mostly made to check grouping. These being borrowed equipment, no sighting adjustments were made with the exception of some minor tinkering on the Nikon scope.

Ammunition shot was plain vanilla CCI and Armscor Precision standard velocity, 40 grain LRN at 50 yards. The rifle appeared to be capable of tighter groups than what I did. On many of the 5-round groups, I shifted grip, stock weld, etc., after 2-3 rounds which likely opened up those groups.  There was no malfunction with about 150 rounds fired. The 25-round magazine was easy to hand load all the way to the max round limit. It definitely stands out from the crowd with the curvature and should feed anyone's desire for an AK-mag-look on a .22 rifle. It can be used in the prone position with more than enough ground clearance offered.

The trigger felt light and crisp with little pre-travel. I've read comments on the 512 trigger as being heavy and gritty/creepy but this was not the case here. I had a great time on the range with this rifle in this ATI configuration. Fun to shoot and it certainly gets you into the "accessorize" mode with the rail and optional rail slots. ATI has a conversion stock system for the regular 512. It's on the expensive side but you will get a quality setup based on my experience with this 512. I had not previously thought of the 512 as a "next one (or two down the line) on the list" but this qualifies to be on any CZ'er's list of must-shoot firearms. Or any shooting enthusiast and beginner as a matter of fact.

Thanks to the Original CZ Forum, CZ-USA and other sponsors for the Independence Day Freedom Giveaway that brought this fine rifle into my shooting experiences. Let us also remember this forum event was announced on Memorial Day to honor those who made the sacrifices to keep our nation free and protect our individual freedoms. Lest we forget.

Scouts out.
With the Nikon at 14x - Correction: that should be 15 (not 25) rounds quick fire from the standing position with the Aimpoint. Ignore the clusters on the upper left.
Finally.....a parting shot of the next concept CZ 455 Tacticool [emoji1]
