Hello,
I apologize for asking something that's probably been asked too many times already. I just ordered a CZ455 American .22lr for my son. This is our first .22. I want to get a scope & rings for him. I don't have experience with scopes. We are pheasant hunters. :]. He will be using this rifle for target shooting. I'm looking in the $300 range, which I know isn't too much for a scope. The rifle will be arriving next week and he will be home from his summer trip on the 18th. So I'm looking to get this purchased ASAP. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

How far will he be shooting the targets at?

Sorry, I thought I mentioned the distances. I would say 50-100 yards.
Thanks
Phil

A Weaver V-16 is a good scope..  I like Warne rings for the CZ.  Burris and BKL are also good choices.

Here is a good reference sheet to look at with guns, scopes and rings.

I really like the Weaver V-16 4-16x42 AO, or the Weaver V-24 6-24X42. I saw on the spreadsheet a few people were using this scope. I just don't know if the 24 is over kill. With possibly CZ rings. Any comments or opinions are appreciated.
Thanks again,
Phil

I ended up getting him a Vortex diamond back 3-9x40. Very nice scope. I ordered the BKL one piece mount for bolts toon rifles. Awesome combo and no problems with the bolt hitting my scope. Thanks for the guidance.

I have a Nikon Prostaff  3-9 Rimfire on one of my CZ  452s; with the 22 LR BDC reticle. I like it very much for range use and small game. I don't remember which rings I went with...

Cheers

I'm considering adding a CZ 455 Lux .22LR to compliment my .223 CZ 527 Carbine. The 527 has a CenterPoint 2-7x32mm (http://www.crosman.com/optics/scopes/adventure-class-2-7x32-mm) mounted with Warne rings (http://www.midwayusa.com/product/1592111233/warne-permanent-attachable-ring-mounts-cz-527-16mm-dovetail). That setup has worked very well. I'm thinking that getting another of these scopes and mounting it with Warne QD (http://warnescopemounts.com/product/721lm-1-inch-7-322-quick-detach-high-gloss-rings/) rings would be a nice set up when I get the 455. Any comments?

I'd look for a scope that had a parallax setting closer to 50 yards, but that combination should work.

I have the Warne 73/22 QD rings with a Leupold fixed 4x Rimfire on my 452 FS
I had the right to remain silent...

but not the ability.

Thanks for the feedback. Yup, the CenterPoint is setup with parallax at 100 yds. Their 4x rimfire offering is setup with parallax at 30 yds. I'll keep looking.

Generally parallax settings are a minimum distance to infinity. 50 yds + should work for anything unless this is a target rifle and you need more magnification.

I took a look on Amazon and it seems like there are some relatively inexpensive (less than $100) scopes with an Adjustable Objective (AO) lens. If I can find one with good user reviews, that would take care of any parallax issues.
