Pistol "Pro-Grip" Enhancer
« on: August 07, 2015, 11:28:38 PM »
Match tomorrow morning.  Forecast Temps 100+,   Dew Point 72,  heat index 105

I only have a little "Pro-Dry" enhancer left.  Anyone know the least expensive place to order Pro Dry --- shipping is $12.50 due to hazardous materials. :(

Is there a substitute hand dryer/grip improver that works just as well and doesn't cost an arm and a leg to ship?

I use rosin from the sports outfitter.

Thanks Grendel.  Does it last for a few stages and really improve your grip by keeping your hands DRY?

When I used it, I just kept it in the little bag it came in, and rubbed my hands with it every so often. As I recall, it worked pretty well, but it's been a while since I used it last.

Well it's the right price,  so I may give it a try.

If you use Pro-Grip,  it keeps your hands completely dry and with a little grip tape locks your hands to the grips.  It'll usually last for a couple of hours at a match.  A very little goes a long ways.
Price is $8-$10 dollars at various sources,  but shipping makes it really expensive for one shooter to order.

I have run into the same problem. I have bought it from Brownells and The Shooters Connection online but the shipping is killer.
Last time I asked around and got three friends to chip in and we ordered two bottles each and shipping was the same as for one bottle.
Also searching around I noticed Amazon had "Prince grip" I think for tennis and free shipping. I bet it is the same stuff, It would be worth the risk to try some.

Shooter's Connection sent me an email ad about their new Comp. Pistol Belt,  looks just like a CR Speed or DAA belt.
I asked about it, and the response said they are better than the CRSpeed and match the DAA for rigidity.
I ordered one for "$39"  :) Includes both belts and the fastener.

Anyway,  they had Pro-Grip enhancer for $8.xx,  so I ordered it too.  Total shipping was $12.50  Not too bad.
Shipped same day.

I use Almay clinical strength antiperspirant gel on my hands before a match. My hands stay dry for a couple of days after though. I thought about combining it with some very fine alumina powder, but I never did. At walmart it costs about $3.00 for a couple of ounces.

So how is that Shooters Connection belt? Better than CR?

Magnus,  I like the belt especially for the price I paid.  It fits jeans belt loops better and keeps everything steady and solid.   I use it twice a week normally and it's still good.  My CRS belt wasn't as good.   Others swear by the DAA belts.

Summary,  YES,  better.
