The one you like better because that's all that matters. My choice was P-06 and with a few parts from CGW it's even better. I practice with the P-01 and have the 06 do nightstand duty. Like them both. Make your choice and enjoy. What others think really shouldn't matter. You matter. You'll enjoy what you get, I'm sure.

well,  gotta chime in..    I have 75b, PO6 and the 40B.     Have reshaped them all ... hand filing the metal, changing grips to get the best possible fit for instinctive point/shoot...     I gotta say... after many rounds.. the 40B is quickly becoming my favorite!  love the P06 too!  but am loving the 40B more and more.. somehow.. its 'just right'!   uber reliable.. uber accurate..

But how is that an honest comparison between models for the OP? Altering the shape of gun to fit you hardly applies to his requirements and does not address the original comparison to the 40P.

ZardozCZ is right on buying the one you like. The differences are minor. They use the same frame and intervals. The 40P uses a bushing that was added to work with the 40B slide and it can be impossible to find a replacement. Every once in awhile a member will make some from derlin and sell them on the board. I like the B slide sights better, but there are more aftermarket replacement options for the 6.

AZ/CZ... you are correct..

I gave a poor comparison.. all are good, they have all be super reliable and super accurate.. far more than I can be.. on a good day they make me look super.. on a bad day.. they make me look better than average.  They never disappoint.. find the one that you like... fits your hand basically well. realize you can change some things easily..  and go from there!

peace to all,

get the P06, the 40P uses a sacrificial plastic bushing in the frame that will wear out over time.  it's fine if you don't shoot much, but honestly I'd just get the P06

My 40P is the best gun purchase I've ever made.  I stole it (figuratively) from a friend who got it as part of a trade.  It's hands down the most accurate CZ pistol I own.  I don't shoot it enough as I use the 97BD in comp and it's the only 40 cal pistol I have currently.  I do use it as my carry piece when I carry.

I think (my non qualified opinion) the square barrel lockup on the 40P makes it inherently more accurate than the P06 barrel lockup.  Plus is has a slightly longer barrel.  The 97B/BD and the Rami have similar barrel designs and they both are shooters too.  But I can't really say that any of my other CZ's aren't shooter too though.

The P06 uses standard (read current) sight options so if you are interested in changing the stock sights the P06 will be easier.

The bushing on the 40P is not currently for sale anywhere that I've found.  It is such a simple thing you can make one and for sure any gunsmith can make one if ever needed.  I can't say that I've shot mine enough to warrant replacement.  It does get chewed up but the gun doesn't care and it doesn't effect function or accuracy at all.  I did purchase some delrin to make bushings but haven't got around to it as I'm busy with other priorities.

So there you go, which one is cheaper?  Do you want main stream or sort of quirky?  I doubt the 40P will ever be a collector but it does have a different back story than the P06.  Neither will disappoint from a function/feel/accuracy standpoint.

Cheers,
Toby
