Bad box of Monarch 9x18.
« on: October 23, 2015, 06:11:49 PM »
The CZ-82 was near-mint when acquired last spring, all original, certainly no alterations. I have no idea how to upload photos (and gone for several days).
The ammo is steel-cased.  Oily smoke was the first real sign of trouble. There were a couple of dud primer strikes, and on the few cases I found all of the primers were intact.

At least three cracked necks were found, with bulging steel on each of them. It must be unique for factory ammo to bulge a steel case?

I'm 95% sure that this Monarch came from the Academy store by Wolfchase, in Cordova TN.
The good news is that all of the Tula and Wolf  9x18 (online sellers) has been normal.  The only bulged cases out of any of my other guns were caused by a nitwit dork who altered the feedramp on my WW2 Mauser Hasc (.32 Auto). But this CZ-82 is -again- all original.
