New CZ83 price?
« on: November 04, 2015, 03:55:59 PM »
I came across a new 83 .380 at a LGS yesterday. They have it priced at $469. Is that a fair price? I was planning on picking up a used one at some point, admittedly not at the top of my list. This shop tends to price pretty high, but these aren't laying around new everywhere to compare. Unfortunately it gave me "that" feeling when I held it...you know, the one that makes your wife mad.

Oh heck, you can blame us for getting the wife mad. NIB doesn't show up often too often these days. [emoji4]

You could get a used one for less money but finding a new one is a challenge these days since they were discontinued in 2012 (why???). Bottom line -- do you like the weapon and are you okay with the price?

Yes, I definitely know that feeling  ;D
Trust me, I would be tempted too. I don't mean to discourage you, but once you shoot this new CZ83, it will be used too. Is the privilege of being the first person to shoot this pistol worth the extra cost or will this become a safe queen?

wdbutcher, good advice sir. I'm back off the ledge now. Actually, I prefer my "old" guns to be old. I have little use for another caliber, it just felt so good in my hand. Better to wait for a deal on one that is unloved. Three new cz's this week is probably about as much as the wife can stand and keep smiling.

If you ever get the uncontrollable urge to buy a CZ83, you can probably buy one on Gunbroker. I've been watching them and you can probably buy a good used one for less than $300 delivered to your FFL. Good luck!

Gunbroker? It seems that you guys don't ever check the selection.

They have had at least twenty five used CZ-83s listed for over a month, if not two months.

The majority appear to be in a single shop in KY.

probably Cole's (CDI) listings. I've bought from them before and would do it again.

They are good to deal with.
