CZ 83 .32AP Mag Dislodging Issue
« on: November 15, 2015, 08:50:35 PM »
Recently picked up my first CZ pistol, an 83 in .32, the last one at a LGS, that came with with 2 mags, which I supplemented with 2 OEM mags in CZ packaging. Those two mags look identical to the two originals with the naked eye, but unlike the originals, inadvertently release on nearly every discharge, and of course result in FTL the following round.  Has anyone else had this issue in this model and caliber?  If so, what was the remedy?  I have never had this issue with any of my new Glocks, Sigs, Berettas, and other quality brands.  Please advise, thanks in advance.

Were these actually CZ-UB mags (from CZ-USA) or the ones that claim to be "CZ Factory Magazine"?

Sounds like they are not locking in. Guessing the holes for the latch are slightly higher on those than the factory mags.
When did it change from "We the people" to "screw the people"?

Why use 911 when it's faster to use 1911 or 9mm?

Eastman, yes these mags came in CZ-USA packaging with their MN and UPC.  Larryflew, I mic'd the latching slots and found that they were slightly smaller than OEM, so was thinking I could maybe jewel-file them larger, but to your point, I have not checked their relative position on the mag body, will do so next.  In any case, I've never done this before, have you?  I'm a little concerned that I might screw up $50 mags.

Thanks for the fedback.

Have you contacted CZ-USA? May be worth the effort before you alter anything. I picked up a CZ83 in .32 ACP that had one mag so I bought two additional mags from CZ-USA and they worked great.

When you get this shooting nicely you'll love it!
