Customized B6PC*Now a BROKEN gun thread*
« on: January 21, 2016, 12:57:02 AM »
I deserve to get hung for not having pics ready to post, but...

Got my gun today.  $264 shipped from cdnn.  No ffl fee because I work in a gun store  8)

Second and third shot were dead in the X, in the same hole, at 15ft.  I knew I had a winner.

Came off the range after 100 flawless rounds, the gunsmith dug it, the Turk hating former tanker at work grudgingly admitted it was "pretty good" after putting 9 shots into one ragged hole.

Not being capable of leaving well enough alone, I blacked out the rear sight dots and filled in the front with bright green.  Then I noticed my shooting hand thumb was being irritated by the angles on the frame at the beaver tail.  So out came the dremel, a tool my gunsmith says should be NFA regulated.  The sharp angles on the frame got blended up nicely, and I took down the front of the frame a bit as well, just gave it a chamfer.  Knowing I was going to re texture the grip at some point I went ahead and ground the stock checkering to smooth.

Shot it a few more times, after washing the plastic dust out with tap water.  Thing is a beast, no hiccups of any kind.

Frame is getting stippled and cerakoted this weekend.  Custom color the smith and I came up with.  I will show many pics when it's done.

If you like guns, and have $250-$300, and don't buy one of these, you are wrong and should feel bad.  I can't wait to get a K2 45, and if I can find one under $300 I will get a full sized B6P also.  Well done Turkey, well done.

I just found out about this gun yesterday. Everything I've heard was positive. I probably won't be able to resist getting one later this year.

So how are you liking that extremely stiff safety?

It amuses me to no end how many times I've read on forums something like "Yeah, the safety loosened up after 300-400 rounds"  :P

On both my compact and full size B6Ps I followed the same regimen: Watch TV with legs propped up, pistol laying in my lap safety side up, mindlessly operate safety a hundred times or so. Alternate that with cocking and dry firing same amount using my left thumb as a hammer stop. Do that 500 times each every night for at least a week and things will loosen up nicely without spending a dime.  :)

Nice.  I'm getting the K245 first, I want one of those badly.

Might do a RIA MAPP instead of a FS BP6, both use small frame or cz mags to my understanding.

The urban grey suppressor ready P09 is pre paid and on order, so a big FS gun is covered, but these clones represent amazing value.

I'd like a K2 but just can't justify it right now. I can't speak to the quality/accuracy of the MAPP (maybe jwc007 will chime in regarding that) but what the RIA does have going for it is Lifetime Warranty on all Armscor guns.

How does this gun compare to the C100? The main difference is alloy vs poly frame right? How do they compare as far as felt recoil is concerned?
I am trying to tell myself that I need a b6p compact like I need a hole in the head.

As a (fairly) experienced shooter I find felt recoil very manageable considering its' size; by comparison my 5 ft-nothing 21 yr old not-very-experienced
daughter likes it more than other 9mms I've let her shoot. When she moves home from school I plan on giving it to her as her first pistol  :)

Got an email from CDNN last night showing the B6P Compact on sale until noon Monday for $239.99 + shipping, so if you're serious about getting one
I'd jump on it.

UPDATE!!

It broke.  Front left frame insert where the slide stop goes in, crap mim part snapped during disassembly.  Eaa has been emailed.  I'm pissed, kinda.  Shouldn't have happened but I knew a $250 gun was a gamble.

Does EAA honor warranties on dremelled firearms? Not pointing fingers, just curious. About 1200 rounds through my B6Pc going strong. Stiff safety did loosen up after 300 or so ;)
