CZ-USA is working hard as ever to bring the goods! Bren carbines, FDE, stocks... even a collapsible variant!

Looks nice! I handled the 14 inch BREN 805 at SHOT 2015, and it felt perfect. That one with the collapsing wire stock looks like an LEO variant with the 10 inch barrel? Doesn't look like it collapses very far, odd design - how did it work/feel?
I NEED that FDE BREN...not want, NEED... 8) :o ;D

Serious Q. Aside from the love of CZ's what makes anyone want a Bren? It's heavier than an AR and does the same with less support and yet cost more money.

If they did one in .308 to compete with the Scar I would be interested.

Why would anyone want a BREN ???   Your right, it is not going to do much of anything different than other rifles ----BUT, it is something new and different to collect for me.

For me it's that I have not been fond of the AR platform since I shot an M16A1 in 1984, and HATED the way it SPROINGGED in my ear. After that, well, I am kind of a maverick on firearms, and dislike where "the crowd" goes, otherwise I'd be on GlockTalk and AR15.com. ;)
It also results in being a CZ firearms person and realizing this is the first CZ military spec rifle the company has ever made for the US market, (vz-58s don't count, that's a different company on both ends), and I honestly think there may be some improvements in the BREN system over the aging AR platform. I would LOVE to see a BREN in .308, but would be even more excited to see one in 6.5 Grendel. We'll see, and yes, I wish the price point was lower, but only demand will cause prices to go down.

Cool, I am about the same. I don't like hopping all over what everyone else has. I do the same with cars.

So I can understand that.  How does it feel in the hands? Does it have good ergos? That is one thing I can say for sure about the AR I can set it up to be comfortable for me. I also understand about the spring noise, same thing that turned me off on the Keltech Sub 2K

If they released one of these in .308 in a urban sniper style I would sell my left nut to get one.

Throughout 40 years of shooting and collecting , I looked thru Shotgun News, Small Arms review and lusted after many of the battle rifles other countries fielded. Now that I have the means when a semi auto version of a battle rifle hits the market, 1. I am thankful and 2. I purchase one. More to the  specifics of this rifle though, A purpose built 11" barrel (not an afterthought) Solid ergos, built by a company with a pedigree that has been in the business of building military and civilian firearms for 97 years (outta metal). Battle tested by the Czech Republic in Afghanistan and it just looks cool!  I have AR's...a number of ARs as does every other "zit poppin", "Daniel Defense coveting," COD wannabe" living in his mommas basement!

Are they incorporating the improvements on the military version of the BREN into the civilian carbines?

From my reading the flash hider and charging handle appear to have been redesigned due to "suggestions" from the Czech military after original issue.

I am still wondering about the buttstock --- I read originally the military wanted the folding, non adjusting skeleton stock you see in a lot of pictures.   However, I also see a lot of military pictures where they have the folding and adjusting stock like the pictures above too.  Are they both issued just based on preference ?????   Anyone know ????

Don't have the MEANS yet, but certainly got the WANNA!!!!  8)

Much of the price is the machining in the receiver. If they went to stamped parts it would be cheaper...and not nearly as high quality.

I own a Palmetto State Armory complete lower, which I bought last year for a great price, but haven't gotten around to the upper yet. Not sure if I will, either. The Mini-14 still shoots well enough.
