How do you adjust/drift the rear sight on a Tristar/Canik?
« on: February 03, 2016, 09:56:44 AM »
I'm pretty sure I need to drift the rear sight on my Tristar P-100 just a tad to the right. I'm consistently shooting 2" left at 10yds, so that means the rear sight needs to be moved to the right. There is no set screw or stake mark. Does this dovetail sight require any Loctite, or can I just bump it to the right .010 and it should hold just fine?

I will make absolutely sure it needs an adjustment before moving it, but I would like to know in advance how to adjust the rear sight on this Tristar, thanks.

I called Tristar, and they said to use a nylon punch to move it and Loctite wasn't necessary.

If they're anything like my C100, they take a pretty good hit. They're very tight and have a glue type stuff under them.

Thanks for the warning.  I just want to move it to the right about .010 and leave it be.  I have a bid in for a universal sight pusher, so maybe with that it will be easier to move .010.

I think that might work. I had to use a 2lb hammer and a solid brass punch to bust mine loose. Good luck to ya.

I used a large hammer and brass punch as well. Don't be gentle, I hit it a lot kind of tapping with no result. Finally I got midevil on it and it moved.
