Cz 452 American trigger pull.
« on: February 11, 2016, 06:23:47 PM »
Hi,I have a CZ452 American with a terrible trigger. It has a 5.5lb pull and so much creep that I never know when it is going to fire.I purchased from a RFD second hand in mint condition though 9 years old.Can anybody tell me the best option to rectify this.I like everything about this gun but the trigger.

Thanks,i think I can get the YoDave kit fairly locally.I'm in Ireland.I don't really fancy replacing the complete trigger but I do need to improve this.I like a light trigger and I have a Cz550 270win with a set trigger and it is perfectly crisp.Pity the 452 didn't come with a set trigger.Searching this forum I see the YoDave kit seems to give adjustments in steps[different sized sleeves for pins]It should definetly improve things.

Yep I used 2nd lightest and don't forget to bump test the stock so it's safe to load then fire as a poised to load and it fires itself.

I could not get the YoDave kit locally but got a very similar kit with 3 springs and 2sleeves.I eventually used the middle spring an the heaviest sleeve. The trigger now has abseloutly no creep an a trigger pull just under 2lbs.Perfect.Thanks.

I like keeping them original, if but you just changing the springs, they must be the same length as the original, not shorter to get lighter weight, Iv seen bolts fall out due to shorter springs used. (Biro springs etc :-[)

Yes,the replacement spring is  the very same size as the original. It makes some difference to the trigger feel.

G'Day Fella's,

Tommy Tree, if you are unable to locate a Gunsmith that is knowledgeable of CZ Rimfire triggers, as was suggested above, fit a Timney trigger to it.
I can usually get a factory CZ/Brno #2 trigger down to a safe 2 1/2 to 3 pounds, without to much trouble but I'm half way around the planet from you!
You may also need to get a Gunsmith to install the Timney for you as well, so either way, you may need to see a good Gunsmith..............

Hope that helps

Doh!
