I bought one of these about a year or so ago.  It is a jewel.  Not sure if my old posts are still archived, but I did some shadetree research on ammo.  I discovered that there are huge variances in chamber/barrel dimensions among 32's and even HUGER variances among ammo makers bullet/case dimensions.  I can assure you that the gun is happiest with S&B ammo.  Not surprisingly as the case fits the chamber, (US brands plain and simply don't fit) and the smaller diameter of S&B bullets (.307-8)  matches the bore diameter.  The fact that both are Czech is probably not a coincidence.  Fiocci brand (Italian) had dimensions similar to the S&B and their 71 grain load worked ok, but I would avoid the Fiocci 60 gr hollowpoints.  I chronographed them at 1250fps! and they were clearly loaded WAY above specs of anything else I have shot.  Note that cheaperthandirt.com stocks S&B now, including the 7.65mm in the 73gr fmj that my gun likes so well.

If you can find one, get it.  I bet it becomes your favorite as well

While the Fiocci you mention is way above spec., I'd assume that the 83, having been chambered in 9x18 , is stout enough to handle a round that is greatly above spec.    I think all three guns (.32, .380, and 9x18 )  use the same basic frame, etc.

That's an awfully big gun to shoot a .32 round.

Yes, it is a big gun for a .32 but it does hold 15 rounds in the magazine. That's a lot of shooting for a .32.

If lack of membership is frowned upon then I guess I will stay off of CZ FORUM. Have a nice day.

I'm sure the gun can handle the higher psi, no problem.  But, there is the issue of timing if the load is excessive for the recoil spring.  Besides, the things are just so bloody LOUD.  The empties were ejected in to the next county!  This phenomenon occured only with the 60 gr. load.  The 73gr seemed normal and chronoed at expected velocities.  I sent an email to Fiocci and they conceded the things might be loaded a little hotter than other brands, but claimed they were within US SAAMI spec.  That would be under 14,000 psi.  I doubt it.
