Day At The NRA Range With CZ 455
« on: March 17, 2016, 05:39:03 PM »

First trip to the NRA Range in Fairfax, VA with my new CZ 455 American Synthetic.  I wanted to do some 50 yard sighting-in and confirm that it was the crazy accurate rifle that it showed itself to be at 25 yards.  Any of you whom have had the pleasure of shooting at the NRA Range already know what a nice facility it is.  Weekdays are great because it usually isn't too crowded and you can shoot as long as you want.

This was my first 20 shots from a seated, supported position @ 50 yards.  My first five shots weren't good.  I had a fellow in the lane next to me shooting a S&W Model 629 and the concussion from that thing was practically knocking me sideways. (Yeah, that's the excuse I'll use!)  The first five shots impacted low-to high left of center, in the 8-9 ring.  Waited a few minutes and took five more shots.  They were slightly better: three above left or touching the 10 ring, two just outside in the 9 ring.  Waited a few more minutes for my neighbor to finish shooting his .44 mag and adjusted my scope: 2 clicks down, 1 click right.  My next ten shots were the ones you see at dead center, nine in one hole and with one flyer at the 4:00 o'clock position.  Scope was set at 7.5x and ammo used was CCI Mini Mag 40gr. RN.

Pardon me if I seem a bit surprised by the inherent accuracy of this rifle.  I knew it was good but, I didn't expect it to be THIS good!  ;D
