Thinking of a Can for a P-07

The thing I most like to do for shooting is USPSA.    Number 2 is taking people to the range, particularly people who aren't shooters.

I have no great desire to shoot with a suppressor, on a routine basis.    Just not worth the effort.

I think it would be fun to have a suppressed pistol for people to shoot at the range.     Of the guns I have, I think my P-07 would be the best.

Can someone recommend a relatively inexpensive suppressor and threaded barrel for this?    I'm going to be shooting subsonic loads.   Neither barrel nor suppressor needs to handle high volume.

Also, I have a Just Right Carbine in 9mm.   It has a threaded barrel.    Are the threads standardized?   Would any suppressor I put on my P-07 work on this too?

All 9mm threads SHOULD be 1/2x28 but that being said some manufactures do stuff oddball.

I bought an Octane 45 as a do it all hand gun suppressor. Not cheap by any means but I shouldn't have to replace it. Will suppress any caliber up to 45 acp. I only have plans to shoot 9mm through it currently but you never know what the future brings.

Over all it was about $800-900 for the suppressor and tax stamp.

When running a suppressor on a pistol with a tilting barrel such as the P-07, the suppressor will need to use a LID (Linear Inertial Decoupler), otherwise referred to as a Recoil Booster or Nielsen Device.

Basically a spring loaded piston that will allow the barrel to overcome the weight of the suppressor and unlock during recoil.

Without said device, in all probability your pistol will not cycle.

When using a suppressor on multiple hosts from pistol to rifle , the spring and piston portion of this device must be removed and replaced with a fixed barrel spacer.
The fixed barrel doesn't move so there is no need for a LID also rifle calibers will destroy a LID thats designed for pistol calibers.

How do you like your octane 45 I also have one coming with in the next month or so hopefully. I also purchased this thinking as a all purpose can using it on a hk uspt & for scorpion and new po7 grey if u have any feedback on set ups similar to this that can gotta be pretty sweet to shoot

I have the factory threaded barrel in mine, purchased from CGW.  It dropped in, and the gun remains amazingly accurate.

A SilencerCo Octane, Osprey, and Hybrid, and Omega9K all work very well on it.  I will be buying a dead air ghost for my dedicated handgun suppressor, because I like the modular length and ill get a good price.  Otherwise I would get the rugged obsidian, same reasons.

Silencers are totally worth it, trust me. Subs and a little water in the can and it's amazing how little noise they make.

I'm going to be using my Silencerco Omega9k that I originally purchased for my Scorpion Evo 3.  I've already tried it and it works great.

Suppressors for Browning action guns need (generally speaking) a booster or LID built in.  And by and large they all do.  The piston mounts to the barrel, and the spring over the piston floats the weight lo g enough for the gun to cycle. 

Very occasionally a different recoil spring is needed to maintain reliability.

In my experience thus far, CZs, Sigs, and HKs make very good host guns, Glocks not so much (lots of blowback due to fast unlock).

No, it's literally the same. Both guns need a booster in the can, but don't even worry about that - any can designed for pistol use has one.
So just get a 9mm pistol silencer and a threaded barrel and you're done. Same for a DW or a P07. My P09 shoots great suppressed.

My wife won a suppressor from Thompson Machine at the NRA convention, and we chose their Isis-2 in 45ACP. It will be a while till my SOT FFL receives it, then even longer for me to get the stamp back.  In the meantime we'll be enjoying the suppressor ready P-07 we bought as a dedicated host.
