Speed Loader for CZ 455 .22LR
« on: June 25, 2016, 02:20:01 PM »
Just wondering if there was a Speed Loader available for a CZ 455 .22LR?

I've picked up a few 25 round magazines and a speed loader sure would come in handy.

Thanks for the reply,

Thanks for the reply.....

I've got the BabyUplula for a few of my pistols. Regretfully it doesn't work because of the slight curve in the CZ 455 magazine. That and the width (looking from the side) prevents the magazine from going into the BabyUplula.

I bought this the other day. It doesn't work either but I might be able to get this to work if I take my Dremel tool to it and slim down the plunger.

Any ideas are greatly appreciated..........

There's not much spring resistance in those 25 rounds banana mags to make it difficult to load by hand. As you found out, the BabyUplulas don't work so I just load them without any tool. I don't think it'll be any faster with one but I could be wrong. I like the 25 round mags better with the 512 semi-auto action than on the 455. Sorry, I don't have any suggestions for a loading tool.

You might look at this one.  I use it for the wider .22LR mag like the ones for the Kadet conversion kit and Sig.  Ir does save the wear on your thumb.  If you are shoot a lot of rounds.

My CZ 455 Lux will be here in a couple of days.  I'll see if it will work on its 5rd mag.

My 25 round mag arrive today.  I tried the two tone black and gray Uplula for the the wider .22LR  mags and it works for me.  It just save the wear and tear of your thumb.  When you are shooting 500-1000 rounds at the range.

You have to put the base against your body, because of the curve. it took a couple of seconds  to figure it out.  My 455 LUX still hasn't arrived so I don't know if the shorter mag 5 and 10 rd will also work.

I shot a short youtube video of a technique I learned loading 26 round Black Dog Machine magazines for an AR-22.  Works just as well on CZ magazines. You basically put the base of the cartridge on the follower or previous shell, press down and then rotate the round into place.  Puts very little pressure on your thumb.  In practice I would put the thumb and finger of my off (left) hand up by the feed lips to help guide the base of the cartridge in place.
