CZ 75 Aluminum Frame?
« on: July 14, 2016, 05:48:53 PM »

I am just getting into CZ's. Don't know why I waited so long. My disease started with a semi compact. I swear hole in hole accuracy at 10 yards, unreal, very natural pointer. Recently picked up full size with Omega, and must say it is a sweet system.

My question is: did they ever make a full size with alumiinum frame?

Would love full size, compact aluminum frame with no rail, just sleek and llighter.

CZ has never made one even though the P01 and PCR have been very successful. Canik makes an excellent clone and offer it in a steel, S -120 model and an aluminum, L-120. The L, with OD green VZ grips, lives up to my hopes and compliments the PCR as a fullsize carry option. I'm not sure they are imported anymore but it is worth the effort to find one.

I have a CZ75BD and two TriStar C100's, one in 9mm and the other in 380 Auto (no longer imported).  These clones are manufactured in Turkey by Canik 55.  The C100 in 9mm has an alloy frame but is not a "full size", it's OAL is 7.36"with a 3.93" barrel.  The fact is you won't find much difference in accuracy in 3.93" barrel versus a 4.7" barrel.  My C100 is my primary 9mm carry but all my 9's are in competition with 45 ACP and 40 S&W for EDC duties.

The C100 with 15 rounds in the magazine weighs 955 grams with the CZ75BD weighing 1233 grams with 16.  That's a 22% reduction in weight versus full size.  Smaller and lighter for virtually the same capacity and performance.

I just bought an L-120 last month from my local gun store here in Salt Lake City. They apparently have several in stock and have them on sale. It was in a Tri-Star box, so may have been in stock for a while. It shoots great for an inexpensive clone and the hogue fingergroove grips for a CZ75 fit it just fine.

I too, would recommend the TriStar (Canik) L-120.  I really like the lighter weight of the aluminum frame in a fullsize 9mm.  Here's a photo of mine (with VZ grips)...

Not close enough clone to use CZ parts.
When did it change from "We the people" to "screw the people"?

Why use 911 when it's faster to use 1911 or 9mm?

Would the small frame Tanfoglio 22lr slide work?
