Kadet Question
« on: December 31, 2001, 02:00:50 PM »
I have a 75B mil that I love so much I am going to buy another CZ shortly  - I live in MA so my selection is extremely limited (only imported/manufactured before 10/98 and those are illegal to sell in a few weeks).  Right now I am thinking a compact if I can find one so to the question:

I shoot 200-500 rounds of .22 through the 75b with the kadet adapter each week, with the minor fitting required on the kadet adapter, are there any problems with sharing a kadet across multiple CZs?

Also, will the kadet fit the compact?

Any specific recommendations on what CZ to buy next given the MA restrictions?

            Thanks, Jon

Yes, the Kadet will fit the compact frame, it just isn't a compact anymore since it has the full size frame and barrel.
My Kadet adapter needed no fitting to mount on my CZ 75B Military.  I am having a tough time pulling the Kadet slide, though, with that rather stout spring and the rather narrow .22LR slide topped by that rear sight that's just waiting to take a slice out of the palm of my hand.
               Any ideas?

Yes it is kind of hard to get a good grip on that thiney slide to pull..esp. when the hammer is down..what I do is I set the hammer back first and rack the slide after..that helps a little.

Hope I could be a help.

Drboom..
What do you mean when you say that the 75mil. made before
10/98 will no longer be sold in Mass.?? I was under the impression that as long as the pistol was made before that date it was saleable in the state.. Is there something going on with the AG ?? Is he going to mess with us again ??

The way the AG regs are written, the only handguns that can be sold but don't comply with the AG regs are those that were lawfully (and proveably) owned in MA before 10/21/98.  The AG has issued an exemption to the MA ownership requirement until the EOPS list of approved handguns (independent of the AG regs) and listed in Ch 140 is issued (similar to the CA requirements).  The first list is complete and will be issued by the EOPS shortly... once the EOPS list is promulgated, only hanguns that are on the EOPS list AND comply with the AG regs can be sold by a dealer unless the gun was proveably in MA before 10/21/98.

So, in short, when the list comes out any day now (was actually completed in early December but hasn't been officially promulgated) all those used guns you see at Four Seasons and everywhere else are out of our reach.  Since CZ hasn't sent any samples (and says they will not do so) to the lab for testing and inclusion on the EOPS list; we have a very short time to buy our toys.

Sorry for the long post but the regs in this bleephole of a state are very complicated.  If I didn't make that clear, post your questions and I will try to clarify.  Thanks, Jon

In other words the CZ that I bought in 2001 ,and is not on list,
can't be sold in this state,ever..To relieve myself of this gun I will have to sell it out of state or can I do a private sale in state ??
Where does this leave the licensed gun dealer ?? Soon there
will be no way to replenish his stock..Out of business !!
            Out of the state !!
The AG wants to be governor, remember to vote for him..

Private sales are not covered by the AG regs or CH140 and the EOPS list so you can sell up to 4 guns privately a year independant of the AG and EOPS.  There are 268 (if I remember correctly) guns on the EOPS approved list but I don't see how most of those will meet the AG regs.  So about all you will see after the list comes out are new S&W, some Sigs and a few other little things.

If you are desparate to relieve yourself of your CZ, I might be able to accomodate you:)
If the AG bothers you, remember to get up and vote, donate, and help out Carla Howell in her bid for governor.

Thanks for the information on the impending doom for shooters
in this state.. Could these rules mean that the value of a used
gun will increase??  I say value not sale prices as they are getting to be ridicules, used guns are selling here for what  they are sold new for in any other state..
Also I must say thanks for the offer on my CZ but they are keepers..If I could afford to I would try to get another one..
