No new guns...
« on: July 29, 2016, 09:40:01 AM »
Looks like I won't be getting any new guns in the foreseeable future.

Here's my tale of woe.  In the last two weeks, I've had to replace my water heater, and in the process of having that done, the cast iron portion of my soil stack in the basement was found to be deteriorating, had that replaced this week.  During all this my dryer quit working, but I think I may be able to fix that.  The brakes went completely out on my pickup over the weekend, luckily that happened while I was driving up my driveway, it's a long driveway, so I managed to get stopped without hitting anything, or anybody.  Now I'm sitting here waiting for the heating/cooling guy to come out and check my A/C as it is leaking water in the basement.  :'( :'(

When it rains it pours it seems.

A/c might just be a clogged drain, that happens a lot.
If your brakes were good and just went bad it sounds like a bad master cylinder and that is a quick inexpensive fix.

I am trying to be positive for you so you can buy more guns. ;D

many things require maintenance or PMs.

our local schools are in the pits due to the lack of maintenance so they are looking at alot of $$$ now.  Pay now or pay later.

i did the 100K pm on my car even tho it didnt need it.  my mechanic thought i was crazy to drop 2k on it when it didnt "need" it.  I choose to do the work now on my schedule instead of someplace when it decides to die.  I was saving up for the work to do so it wasnt as bad if it decide to do something major at a random time.  I  had the xmission rebuilt @ 60 K since it decided to go out at that time.  Caught me off guard.  But i now have a "new" car more or less.

Its a PIA.

I'm downsizing alot of stuff including guns.  Just so that i dont have to do alot later on.

you may not like it now, but once those things are fixed/replaced, you can move onto other things.

All those are more important than buying a new gun imo.
You just need to enjoy your old ones a bit more.

You guys are right, of course.  For all of this to happen at once though, is quite a shock to the pocketbook. :)
