Ordering a Kadet Kit
« on: January 22, 2002, 06:09:03 PM »
I am new to the world of CZ handguns. I purchased a new CZ75B Military (1996) last weekend at a gun show and haven't even had a chance to shoot it yet.  I have been reading about the Kadet conversion kits and have a question. Do you have to order the Kadet kit through a FFL dealer or can it be purchased by us ordinary mortals directly?

Hello.  It's not considered a firearm and can be sold directly to you.

            Best.

Hi,

I got my kadet kit a couple months ago from J & G sales in Prescott, AZ.  Their web site is www.jgsales.com.  You can order online with a credit card and they have pretty good prices.

So far I've run about 3,000 rounds of 22 LR through it with great relaibility.  I usually shoot 250 or so LR through it then put the 40 S & W slide back in and finish up with a couple clips of that.

I'd recommend the Kadet kit to any one.

            Good luck.

PS there's some good help items in the Kadet club listing as well as the gunsmithing section.

While you can certainly find a .22 handgun for about the price of the Kadet kit you can order it to your door without an FFL and you get a very nice .22 pistol when you have it assembled on your frame.  Great way to break in the action of a CZ 75!  The extra mags are expensive at $25 each but worth the money as they are well made.  I wish I would have ordered more than 1 extra.  J&G sold mine for $240 +$10 shipping with two mags and I bought a third for $25.  The kadet kits have some "teething" problems but nothing that can't be tweeked to perfection.  I like my Kadet better than Ruger Mark II.  It's just more comfortable in the hand and fun to shoot.  They are an expensive "TOY" but are the best .22 conversion kit on the market right now hands down.  The current crop of aluminum slide conversions  for Colts and Berettas just don't have the accuracy or the durability of these all steel fixed barreled kits. mapdude
