mount for my Kadet
« on: February 06, 2002, 09:17:53 PM »
I have purchased an Optima 2000 red dot scope for my kadet.  The problem is that I am having trouble finding a mount.  If anyone has any ideas of how I would mount it I would greatly appreciate it.

            Thank you,

Since the top of the gun doesn't move, mount it to the top.   You can't mount it up top on regular autos because of the slide movement.  You could drill/tap.  Or, better still, incorporate a base that uses the front and rear slide dovetails, after removing the regular sights.  Make little "blocks" that fit the dovetails and are drilled and tapped.  Mount some kind of rail to the blocks.  Mount the optics on the rail.  Just a thought.
Turkish: "What's that for?"
Tommy: "Protection."
Turkish: "Protection from what, ze Germans?"

I realize that this is not much help but I recall, can't remember
where, that someone is offering two types of mount for the
CZ 75 for the Optima sight.. One replaced the rear sight and the other was a bridge type that screwed to the frame..
Why don't you call CZUSA and ask there..If anyone knows
            they would..
The rear sight mount works well as I have it on a 1911 in 9mm and a Ciener conversion kit..I like the sight and wonder why it
is no longer offered by Tasco..

Fourseasonsguns.com has a picture of two mounts for the
CZ 75b.. No reason to think that there would be a problem
with using either one the kadet kit..
The big problem is the fact that the Optima 2000 is no longer
being listed by Tasco..If you have one I would use it and enjoy it,I will with the ones I have..
