Is the CGW flat S/A trigger for the CZ 75 compatible with the 97?

I have the 5SAO trigger in both a 75B and 97B-E so would assume the "flat" trigger is compatible with both as well as the part fitted into the frame is the same for both triggers.  FWIW, I had the "flat" in the 75B, then had CGW build me a 97B-E using the 5SAO and, after using the 97, I sent the 75B back to them to have the flat trigger removed and the 5 SAO installed in its place.  To me, the slight curve on the 5SAO works much better than the "flat" version.

If you take a look at the list of categories in the link above, you'll notice the 97B/BD noted there.

I'm having a hell of a time getting the trigger back in without binding. I have the trigger pin from CGW and the SAO trigger as well. It binds/sticks about halfway through the trigger stroke. Do I have the spring installed correctly? Pic is with slave pin holding the spring.

Well I surrendered and put the stock trigger back on her. All CGW parts from top to bottom and she's smooth as butter! I need to try another adjustable trigger or send her over to David to see what he can do.

How does the flat trigger feel installed without the spring? Does it still bind?

I never tried it that way. Maybe next time I tear it down I'll try that.

Try backing in the pre travel  screw a little. From the pics, it looks like it's out far enough to cause the binding while going thru the frame.

Im not sure about the SAO trigger, but the normal trigger the spring goes in last. Aside from that the pre travel screw may be causing some issues.

Could you please clarify? How does the return spring go in last? I install it as pictured here. The floating pin would go in last, pushing the slave out the other side while pushing down on the trigger from the inside to line it up.

Ok... so you are trying to use it as a slave pin. Aside from the set screw causing an issue possibly putting the trigger in in this maner is causing an issue too...again I have never put a flat trigger in except on the tactical sport, which is entirely different. In fact I have never installed a trigger with a slave pin.... is this an actual prefered method of the folks here??

. ...a pair of needle nose to insirt the spring while pishing the pin through does the trick just fine

The short leg of the trigger spring goes in the vertical hole in the trigger, from what I remember.

Preferred by many and recommended by CGW(they provide the slave pin).

^^^^^^^^ This.
The issue with needle nose pliers is if you scratch/gouge the spring, you have now created a weak spot. That being said, I too use needle nose pliers. I wrap the jaws of the pliers in electrical tape. This avoids any chance of putting a gouge in the spring causing a weak spot.

OP, nothing wrong with how you're doing it as long as short leg is in the trigger, long leg in the frame.
I still say your Pre travel screw is causing your issues.

Backed the pre-travel all the way out and reinstalled with no spring. Trigger binds. For grins and giggles, reinstall again with spring....because I'm getting good at this, and it binds. Conclusion, wrong trigger, or I'm a mental defective[emoji23]. Installed factory trigger and all is right with world again! I checked my part #'s and the trigger is a CZ Custom trigger. Going to order one from CGW and see if that makes a difference.
