.45 Super/10mm Ejector mod post

There was a thread about shortening the ejector.  I can't seem to find it, anybody know where it is?

That was quite some time ago. We don't keep anything past 20 pages in the forum. When you find some Gunsmithing Info, sometimes it is best to save the page, just in case you will need it and the Web Page goes away.

However, I still have Seismic Sams pic of his .45 Super/10mm Ejector Mod. Hope this helps!

Perfect.  Someone on THR was asking for a pic of how short I cut mine.  I don't have that gun anymore, and haven't modded my current one.

Toward the ejector port means the point hitting the casing is closer to the center or the other way? My TZ sometimes throw spent casing toward my forehead, I am thinking to mod the ejector to hit higher (like in eew's picture) and away from the the center, correct way for the purpose?

Did the ejector mod cure the brass to the forehead problem?
I have a .45 witness that will kick a spent cartridge to my forehead at least once in every 10 rounds. I was about ready to get rid of the pistol, but luckily I found this forum! Great stuff! Has anyone else had this problem, if so what did you do to fix it?

Mine does that, too, usually on the last round. Last one hit casemouth first and drew blood. Glad there's a fix!

I just bought a P-Carry witness (EAA) and it really whips those empty out there. I was shooting in an indoor range against the wall on my right. I was bouncing them off the wall and sending them 15 feet to the left and 15 feet behind..
Is this normal? Would a heavier spring dampen that?? ???

I put a Wolff 22# MRS in my 10mm Elite Match, and it's still shooting brass 25' to the right and back a ways. Not far enough back though. Today at the range my empties were hitting the guy 3 lanes down. And rather than mention it to me in a civil manner, after the first couple, he waited until he hit his boiling point. Honestly I had no idea. When I'm shooting, it's "eyes forward".

ANYway, do I cut the ejector to look just like the one in the first pic above? To I have to bend it inward or outward? I only got to fire 10 rounds today... I was very disappointed... I guess "Mr. Shouty Pants" was pretty disappointed, too...  :o ::)

You are most Welcome!  :)

A Dremel can be used for the bulk of the work, but you may wish to finish the final shaping with a file.  YMMV, depending upon skill.
You have to start somewhere.

Best of Luck and beware of taking "too much" off at one swipe.

Don't have the gun anymore, but I did shorten and shape the ejector in my Tanfo full size 10mm. My problem was the fired brass was launched into the next zip code with the factory recoil spring. I modified the ejector and went to a 22# recoil spring. Cases never came back at me, and after the mods the brass only traveled 30' or so. Sometimes I could even find some of it. Great gun! It was the fullsize with the "Wonder Finish".
