pistol won't fire

Just bought a used p07.  Sometimes the hammer won't fall in SA mode. It's as if the trigger can't come back far enough to trip the sear.  Played with the trigger bar spring a little but it doesn't seem to help much.  It especially seems to happen after I've dry fired the pistol in DA mode a number of times. Any ideas?  Can't seem to replicate the problem when slide is off the frame if that helps.

Played with the trigger bar spring some more.  It does seem to get better or worse depending on how I adjust the spring but the problem never goes away completely.

I'd give Cajun Gun Works a call and see what they have to say. They'll be able to fix you up with the parts to get it going again.

Don't forget your local gunsmith if you are lucky enough to have one.  I'm fortunate that the LGS has a very good one on staff.

Used pistol is hard to diagnose.  Has it had a lot of rounds through it?  Is there an "over-travel screw" adjustment on your trigger?  If so,  back it out  and try it again.
After that,  I'd do as said above and call CGW for advice.

Sounds like the DA roller is incorrect.  Call us and we can help you diagnose it.

Called CGW. He says CZ had some problems with the triggers on early model P07's.  He suggested replacing the trigger with the new style one.  Will let everyone know how it works out.

Contact CGW, David AKA Schmeky can help. In post #6 he mentioned the roller, not the trigger. Not doubting, just wonder if there was a misunderstanding.

He recommended trigger to me on the phone.  He's trying to diagnose a problem over the phone for a gun he can't see.  The trigger was as good a guess as any.  Will call him again Tues. Really like the new style trigger and appreciate his help.

Hmm. You might just have to send it in to him! Though it sounds like your trigger bar might be the culprit if playing with it helps it.

While you're deciding on your next step,
Make sure the screw holding the trigger bar spring in place is snug but not bending the spring loop inward.
Clear the pistol and dry fire untIl it fails to reset.  Take the grips off.  With something like the eraser end of a wooden pencil,  reach in with the eraser end and apply just a gentle upward pressure on one side the trigger bar when dry firing.
If that doesn't work,  do the other side.
It sounds like what can happen when the trigger bare upward pressure is light on one side.  Screw distorting the spring, not enough spring pressure on one side or the spring end isn't riding in the groove.

It was the trigger bar.  The old one appears to be a little bent for some reason.  Who'd a thunk it.
